Where the ground plants and trees go, on a small made-up stretch of land (160 m: a hillside, a stream, a pond, a path, woods), with the real plants and plain ground. The same rules as the Terrain Lab, from the same file, so Copy settings here and Paste growth settings there. Drag to look round, scroll to zoom, click a plant to name it.
patch: holds stretches of ground by itself · clump: small family groups · loner: here and there. The small grey word is the ground it likes. Only shows just that kind.
By patch: each spot in the colour of the patch kind that wins it (the dots by the kinds' names), strong where one kind holds it alone, grey where several are close and their plants mix, dark brown where the ground is bare. Thick and thin: bright where plants grow thick, dark where they thin out.
The ground's colours: green grass, yellow dry, brown steep ground and paths, grey stony shore, blue water. Trees are simple stand-ins (cones: pines; balls: ash, aspen, oak), tinted as in the Terrain Lab.
